I have more than 25 years experience founding and/or operating businesses. I’ve built “brick and mortar” businesses and online businesses and I’ve taken traditional business models and introduced them to the web.

I’m what I like to call a “Venturpreneur” because what I do looks like venture capital and entrepreneurship. In a nutshell I invest in and build entrepreneurs.

In 1987 co-founded the first minority-owned U.S. flag maritime shipping company to be awarded a U.S. Navy government contract. The contract was worth in excess of $35 million. As a business owner I have developed and managed operating and special project budgets; consistently meeting or exceeding targets.

I’ve operated my own management consulting practice and I’ve been hired to manage business development teams, I’ve also worked as a commercial banker and an investment banker.

As an investment banker with a major money center bank, I served as team leader on several syndicated finance transactions raising in excess of $1.8 billion and earning fees of more than $10 million.

I’m a graduate of The United States Merchant Marine Academy (USMMA – Kings Point) with a Bachelor of Science degree in Marine Engineering and a Minor in Business Administration. I also hold an U.S. Coast Guard Merchant Mariner’s license as a Second Assistant Engineer and I honorably resigned from the U.S. Naval Reserve with the rank of Lieutenant Commander.

I live in southern California with my beautiful wife and three children (2 boys and a girl). When I’m not working on one of my businesses or hanging out with my family you can find me on the golf course (usually looking for my wayward ball!)

I’ve been involved with online businesses since 2003 and believe me, I’ve made plenty of mistakes. My goal in life has always been to take what I know and  help others succeed. The tools and techniques I talk about on this site are the ones that work time and time again.
